Annick van Niekerk is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town, where she works with Prof. Sharon Prince in the Division of Cell Biology.

She holds a PhD in Chemistry, and her research brings together chemistry, biochemistry, and cell biology to develop next–generation antibody–drug conjugates aimed at improving treatment options for cervical cancer. As part of the Centre for the Development of Cancer Therapeutics for Africa (CDCTA), she contributes to an interdisciplinary effort to make innovative immunotherapies more accessible to South African patients.

She also serves as an early-career ambassador for the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) and is a postdoctoral member of the South African Chemical Institute (SACI).
